Winner Announced - Joyce Wood Wins Sadler Gallery Exhibition

Joyce has finished a BA in Fine Art at Portsmouth University in the past couple of years.
I have always been interested in Art and Artists.

To improve her technical skills she joined an art class, then did further qualifications. Eventually she saw the access course advertised this was a link to Portsmouth University. After being accepted in 2003 to do a Fine Art Course, it was hard work but opened up not only many artists and their work, but to student life in general. Two ladies, the same vintage joined the course together and were a bit of a novelty at first, it all settled down and they enjoyed the 3yrs they were at Portsmouth University. Joyce is now looking forward to working toward the solo exhibition.

Joyces comment on the pieces she entered for Imprint was

‘The parallel between Hieroglyphics and the Computer are they are both of their own time, one ancient and one modern. Hieroglyphics took time to decipher the symbols and logic and so in away do computers, both are imprinted in their own times.’
